Video gaming continues to grow in popularity as more and more people take up the hobby. From shooting titles to puzzles, this increasing demand is almost universal across every genre. That includes casino games, particularly as many gaming sites offer attractive deals to new players, including free spins that are credited just for signing up.

Of course, football titles are another big hit, especially among fans of the beautiful game. When it comes to these, FIFA (soon to be called EA Sports FC) is the dominant player. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t other great football games. In fact, there are many epic ones that any footy fanatic will love.

Football Manager

Football Manager is another big name in this genre, but it doesn’t command quite the same fame as FIFA. It’s also a completely different kettle of fish as the focus is very much on the technical and strategic elements of the game.

The game has been published regularly since 1992, though it has also undergone a name change in that time. Over the years, the developers have taken a lot of care to make it intricate and realistic, meaning that it’s ideal for anyone who lives and breathes football.

eFootball

eFootball might not be a name you recognise but Pro Evolution Soccer (PES) should be. This game, which has been produced by Konami since 1995, has been the biggest rival to FIFA for much of the last three decades.

In 2020, the game changed its name to eFootball as the developers made a concerted effort to push the franchise in the direction of online gaming and esports. In 2021, it also became free-to-play, making it an even more attractive proposition to players.

Rocket League

Rocket League is like the video game version of Top Gear’s car football matches but with a few extra twists. While FIFA, eFootball, and Football Manager focus on realism, Rocket League’s only aim is to deliver fun.

Players are matched with others online to compete in a cage match. But instead of running around the field, you’re inside a car and you must move the ball around by crashing into it.

It’s incredibly fun, even if you’re not a big fan of football, as the usual rules of the game have been completely done away with. Instead, it’s just high-octane arcade fun that involves consequence-free car crashing and physics-defying manouvers as you try to knock your comically-sized ball into the back of the net.
