Gameweek 38 has wrapped up the season once again. Gone are the days of stealing those last few hours of work on a Friday for making last-minute Fantasy Premier League transfers; staring blankly at those shouty blokes on Soccer Saturday whilst clinging to your phone and shaking your head in disbelief that Bruno Saltor is missing from Garth Crook’s team of the week once again.

If that has been you from August until now, you’d undoubtably have noticed the few strange moments. Watford were joint-top in September after beating a Spurs side that just thrashed United at Old Trafford. December went absolutely bonkers when Leicester won at Stamford Bridge then beat City at home either side of Christmas, Wolves won at Wembley and Palace won at the Etihad. Then City lost again in Newcastle just a few weeks later towards the end of January.

These shocks may not have ultimately decided the title race, but they make for memorable moments – especially if you’ve got a tenner on one of those ‘big six’ clubs getting upset. Betway have done the maths and, thanks to their outstanding away form, Crystal Palace are this season’s most profitable team. Despite suffering relegation this year, Cardiff’s win at Old Trafford on the final day means they’re sitting pretty at sixth in the profitability standings – ahead of City and Liverpool – while United are languishing in the bottom half.

Ahead of this weekend’s FA Cup final, something to bear in mind might be that Watford just about edge Man City in Betway’s rankings – the ultimate cupset might be on, those scars from Wigan in 2013 could be reopened – but then again, maybe not.
