Frank Lampard returns to the Bridge this weekend looking for his first goal as Chelsea manager after a 4-0 drubbing away to Manchester United ruined his Chelsea homecoming.

It wasn’t too long ago when Frank was last searching for a first league goal in Chelsea colours. It’s the 2001-02 season, he’s in midfield alongside Zenden, Stanic and Dalla Bona. The score is 4-1 and despite Kevin Nolan’s opener, Chelsea’s forwards have hammered Bolton’s backline. There’s just a couple of minutes to go and Zola’s backheeled the ball to Frank, 25 yards out…

If Football Index had been around back then, I reckon everyone would’ve been lumping a few quid on Lamps… Nobby Solano owners would’ve been pretty pleased too that week after he scored an injury time winner against Leeds. In fact, here’s what the Index would have looked after Gameweek 18 of the 2000-01 season.

Ruud Van Nistelrooy’s hat trick has left Southampton keeper Paul Jones sinking rapidly whilst Teddy Sheringham has also fallen after his red card for an off-the-ball incident with Ipswich defender John McGreal led to Spurs falling to a 2-1 defeat.
