Football’s happened again and with the German and Spanish leagues returning, there was even more to watch and talk about. We had newly-promoted Osasuna and Mallorca both picking up opening gameweek wins and fellow promoted club Granada pushing Villarreal all the way in a fantastic four-all draw. Sevilla fielded virtually a whole new eleven at the start of this season with only Carriço, Nolito, Navas and Vaclík surviving the summer and Atletico Madrid new boy João Félix played a blinder, only for Morata to ruin it. So no surprises in Spain then… Apart from the bit where Barcelona lost to a 38-year-old smashing in an overhead kick at San Mamés.

Over in Germany, Dortmund carried on being an absolute joy to watch and with Hazard, Brandt, Schulz and Hummels all to integrate/reintegrate into the squad, we could finally see the end of Bayern’s seven-year dominance. In France there were the usual bonkers goings-on with red cards flying out all over the shop in Nîmes, Lyon slotting six past Angers and Monaco slotting into the bottom spot in the table. Darío Benedetto found himself having a pretty miserable full-debut too, sending a penalty into space to leave Marseille winless from their first two games.

In the Premier League, Ndidi gave a miserable post-match interview after scoring an equaliser against Chelsea, Adrián gave away a hilarious goal against Southampton and Teemu Pukki revealed himself as the best striker in the league. Paul Pogba took a penalty, missed it and incurred the wrath of Gary Neville and Lucas Moura scored with his first touch – how many times has that happened?

Yep, we’re doing another list of goals; the best first touch goals we could think of on a Tuesday in the office. And that’s we want you to do too, tell us the best ones that you come up with and we’ll add them to the list.

He’s not even the first Spurs man to do it recently, Eriksen set the tone for a business-as-usual home win against Man United with his first touch last year. Cue moody José.
