21-year-old German sensation Kai Havertz has been tipped to join Premier League side Chelsea in the wake of Bayer Leverkusen’s Europa League campaign coming to an end. However, Blues fans might have gotten quite the scare when they got wind of Dutch minnows Heracles Almelo welcoming the player with a tweet of his face photoshopped over their club jersey.

Of course, there’s no way a club of Heracles’ status can even afford a player being courted by some of the biggest outfits in the world. Yet their joke was not random as Leverkusen’s manager Peter Bosz claimed the attacker will be playing his football for the Dutch side during a press conference after his team’s 2-1 loss to Internazionale this week.

Havertz scored the only goal for Bayer in the 2-1 defeat, with Inter moving on to the competition’s next round. The Italian side are favoured to win the Europa League at 7/4 with William Hill and are 3/4 to beat Shakhtar Donetsk when they clash next week. Manchester United are 13/8 for Europa glory with Betvictor, with Sevilla in behind at 3/1 with Bet365.

The German youngster likely played his last game for the Bundesliga side on Monday, signing off with a crafty goal. But Bosz was apparently in good spirits when questioned on the player’s future following the exit.

"Yes, I can exclusively announce he’ll play for Heracles Almelo,” he said. Almelo, in turn, jokingly announced Havertz as an incoming signing via their official Twitter account.

Meanwhile, Leverkusen’s sporting director has warned that Chelsea, or any other club keen on signing their player, should not expect a discount.

"We know of the interest of a couple of clubs, especially Chelsea, but for us, the situation is quite simple – he has a two-year contract, if anyone wants him on our terms, fine, otherwise he stays here another year and we are happy," the director said. "It won’t be easy, but for an artist like him there is no COVID discount.”

Betfair’s offering odds on Havertz’ next destination, with the Blues 1/20 to secure his signature. Bayern Munich is 10/1 in that regard, Liverpool are 20/1 and there are odds of 22/1 going on Real Madrid. Paddy Power has odds of 5/1 on offer for bettors who reckon the player will stay put.

Anyone keen on the best tips, odds and promotions relating to English football should visit Freebets.com, with odds already in place for the upcoming Premier League season. Chelsea, who are likely to sign Havertz after bringing in Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner, are 16 /1 to finish atop the table next term. Manchester City, though, are the favourites at 21/20, while reigning champs Liverpool are 2/1 to retain their crown.

A top-four finish is certainly more achievable for Frank Lampard’s young Blues, who are 4/6 to secure Champions League football again. United are 2/5 in that regard, with both Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal at 3/1.
