After we asked on Twitter whether anyone was heading to the football last week, we really shouldn’t have been surprised by the sheer obscurity of some the responses we received. We began hoping for FA Cup shocks captured from the terraces on smartphone cameras. What we got instead was a tale of the weekend’s football that you cared for enough to tell us about. And that’s far more beautiful than we ever could have imagined.

Leek Town 1-1 Runcorn Linnets – Leek, Staffordshire

Att: 407

Paul Eastup (@pauleastup) followed Runcorn Linnets to Leek Town. Some might have said it was too cold for the trip down the M6 for this EVO-STIK Northern Premier League West Division clash last Saturday, but not Paul. We salute you, Paul.

Chonburi 2-1 Sanfreece Hiroshima – Chonburi, Thailand

Att: 5,154

Dale Farrington (@chonburi_fc) was in Thailand for pre-season action between Toyota Thai League mid-tablers Chonburi FC and J1 League nearly men Sanfrecce Hiroshima. Chonburi’s win meant taking home the J League Asia Challenge trophy.

Chadderton 1-1 Daisy Hill – Chadderton, Oldham

Att: 86

John D (@rljohnny) spent his Saturday engrossed in West Counties League Division One North action. Glad to see that the home side took their warmup pitch-side. Wouldn’t want to scuff that turf up any further.

Kelty Hearts 5-0 Edusport Academy – Fife, Scotland

Att: 326

Kevin (@KayemPhoto) saw his Kelty Hearts climb to third as their push for promotion under former Scotland captain Barry Ferguson continues. There really is a golden generation of managers emerging. Steven, Frank, Sol, Barry.

Dijon FCO 2-0 AS Monaco – Dijon, France

Att: 12,060

Pierre-Paul Bermingham (@DC_PP14) was at Stade Gaston Gérard on Saturday night, where Monaco fans kindly asked Dijon for a pre-match firework display to celebrate Thierry Henry’s sacking. Not really – but they still looked great.

We’ll be asking for more photos from around the grounds throughout February. So if you’re heading to the football, let us know on Twitter (@blzzrd) and we’ll feature our favourites in the next edition.
